| The Aesthetics of Plastic Expression |
Nr. 1-2 (113) |
The plastic shapes of curved lines always fit harmoniously into the environment. A recently realised project by the architects’ bureau Vilius ir partneriai (architects Vida Vyšniauskienė and Vilius Adomavičius, constructor Mindaugas Kasiulevičius) confirms the truth of these statements. When looking from the slope, the laconic shape of the building seems to float in the air, hardly touching the ground with its glass surfaces.
The building looks closed from the driveway, but then it reveals its integrated glass surfaces. For the curved shapes the architects have used Twinson Face, a mixture of Deceunink NV timber and PVC, which creates exceptional aesthetics and is easy to maintain. Inside, curved lines dominate not only the structure of the building, but also interior elements such as lights, shelves and integrated antechamber furniture. From the corridor one can access the child’s room, the master bedroom, the study and the bathroom with a sauna. From here one can enter an outdoor terrace with a round swimming pool. A spacious cloakroom is situated next to the master bedroom.
The main area of the house consists of the sitting room, the dining room and the kitchen zone framed by large windows lightly covered with black day curtains. The curved glass surfaces expand the space and draw the line between the interior and natural surroundings. To create intimacy in the evening, the windows are covered with silk curtains. The sitting room zone is separated from other zones by an openwork set of shelves. In the fireplace zone the architects have introduced a decorative wall from ceramic Viva tiles.
The laconic architecture by Vida Vyšniauskienė and Vilius Adomavičius is filled with refined elegance and contemporary stylish luxury. |
