The architecture of Alma and Rolandas Palekas (constructor A. Dominaitė) stands out for its purified form, and Asta Kazlauskienė creates laconic interiors. The house that has benefited from this trio is as if endowed with the idyllic aura of peace. The clear and harmonious forms of the building have been perfectly placed in a peaceful area of the city that ends with a pine grove. Asta Kazlauskienė has contrasted her white interior to the dark external walls. Inside, the sinister facade is transformed into light glass surfaces, but dark natural wooden floor and the finish of the fireplace in the centre hint at the colour range of the exterior.

The interior designer did not have to change the plan of the building because the functional zones had been already well organised by the architects. The main space of the house is the sitting – dining zone with an impressive staircase in the middle. The sitting room opening through the two floors seems to radiate peace flooded by the light coming through huge windows. Although the darkened oak wood colour dominates in the dining zone and the kitchen, the physical sense of peace is not disturbed. High quality things and carefully chosen works of art create a subtle background for this space.

The ground floor also houses the studio and the master bedroom with the bathroom dominated by quiet brownish colours. The entertainment and recreational zone has been allocated much space as well: a mini cinema, a swimming pool and a sauna. The pool room is situated in the open hall on the first floor, hidden behind a wall. Two children’s bedrooms with a bathroom are situated also on this floor. The overall impression is that if you stay longer in this house, the sense of peace and harmony does not disappear.
